About The Melvina Jones Family
Melvina Farris was probably born in Kentucky. Melvina married William Jones in Clay county, KY., he was born 1838 in North Carolina, and, after 1845, lived in Clay county, KY. William and Melvina were the parents of Mary "Polly" (Ring), Delora (McCoy), Lucy (Freeman), Belle (Cotton), Susie "Sudie" (Robey), and Bertha Jones (Stevens-Butcher). Bertha Jones and Thomas Stevens are the parents of Roscoe, Charles Robert, and Cleo Stevens (Knight-Hill) of Knoxville, Knox county, TN., and Maynardville, Union county, TN.

William is the son of Preston Jones and Elizabeth Ramsey. Preston Jones is the son of Rev. William Jones and Dorothy "Dolly" Hampton.
